In a renewed bid to curb the incessant security challenges within Akoko North West Local Government, ANWLGA, the Executive Chairman, HONOURABLE AYODELE SAMSON AKANDE,FCA has led other Leaders of Thoughts including, Paramount Rulers, Ethnic Community Leaders, Religious and Heads of all the Security Agencies on Wednesday has resolved that living in harmony as final solution to insecurities.
This resolved to begin a new Communal Security Awareness Campaign Slogan across all the members of the different Communities including both the Indigenes and Non-Ethic Societies that, ”Everybody MUST Notice Something, Do Something and Say Something” was reached at the end of a Strategic Security Stakeholders Meeting held at the Council Complex at Okeagbe-Akoko.
During the meeting the different Stakeholders drawn from the Traditional Council, the Non-Indigenes Communities, LG Council Executives, Senior Management Staff and the Legislative Arm and the Security Agencies as they debate and discuss intensively on the need to create Strategies For Communal Security Information Management..
The Security Stakeholders Meeting from the spirit and manners at which the event ended can be said to be successful as different opposing camps of the indigenes and the Non-Indigenes closed their hostile ranks for the first time agreeing on various dimensions to resolve most of the remote causes of the communal clashes.
In his welcome address, the Chief Host, Hon.Akande said that holding the Security Meeting has become imperative in accordance to the mandate of his office and to compliment the repetitive efforts of the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN to rid the entire State of criminals and banditry.
Akande sternly cautioned that henceforth in ANWLG that it has become a criminal offence for anybody hoarding vital security information among all members of the Community as efforts are already in the pipeline to accelerate enacting the enabling laws to sustain the prosecution of such offenders.
Akande give the reason behind the new policy direction that,” It has become very imperative for our government in ANWLG will not fold our arms and watch our domain turned into a den for kidnappers, criminals and banditry while our people now sleep with one eyes closed for fear of attack as we keep mourning over the killing of innocent people and many victims have their properties looted.
Other reason Akande deduced to why he conveyed the meeting is that it expected that success recorded from this Security Meeting will provide a platform for interface between the critical Stakeholders from various communities an avenue for sincere deliberations to identify security challenges, trouble areas of conflicts, black spots as a means of finding peace, unity and harmonious resolutions.
He warned that ANWLG will no more tolerate the roaming around of all Underage-Lads, Teenagers and Herd-Boys in our streets, even farmlands while all those involved in all illegal deforestation and Charcoal Production in our forests will be prosecuted.
He also charged all Non-Indigenes residing in his domain that it is now illegal and may also becomes punishable offence with stiff penalties for any of them residing in any Community in Akokoland and in entire Ondo State who failed to profile their migrating families, wards and workers with the Royal Fathers or at Community Designated Info Centers
Akande told the gathering that ANWLGA will frown at any violators of any peaceful resolutions made after the meeting, saying,“decisions were taken by all the participants and were never motivated by vendetta but as a resolute initiative to finally rid our communities of criminalities and curb all its related crises.

The well attended meeting attracted virtually all the Paramount Rulers led by ANWLGA Traditional Council Chairman, HRH Oba Yisa Olanipekun, Zaki of Arigidi-Akoko, Oba A. A. Momodu, Akala of Ikaramu-Akoko and other Obas present who are too numerous to mention.
The Muslim and Christian Communities were ably represented by the duo of Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani and Pastor Samuel Popoola respectively.
The Security Forces at the meeting includes Nigerian Police, South West Security Network Forces (Amotekun), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence (NSDC), Immigration and Federal Road Safety (FRSC) speak with one accord and pledged to be very professional in there exercises and operation to secure ANWLGA.
Some Community and Youth Leaders were in attendance to present the prevailing security situation in their respective towns and villages while the leaders of the entire Non-Indigenes from the various Fulani, Ebira, Igala, Tiv and Hausa Communities.
Among the notable complained and security challenges discussed are Excessive Youth Drug Abuses, Farmers/Herders Crises, Farm Settlements Encroachments, illegal Influx of Criminals, Abuse of Unregister Bikes by Strange Okada Riders, Hoarding of Security Information and Operating Illegal Drinking Joints inside the Forests.

Many things stands the winner of MISS ORIKY 2019 Beauty Contest, Odunayo Adeyemi out of the crowd and these her sterling qualities is even beyond beauty but not limited to her brilliancy, boldness and carriage.
Without prejudice to the other contestants of the converted Miss Oriki Crown but meeting Odunayo, a very calm, cool, and collective young lady changed my notion as I can vouch that the organizers and the Panel of Judges have done a marvelous job by unanimously endorsing her as the winner.

Amidst smile and high enthusiasm, the incoming Miss Oriki 2019, Odunayo revealed how her humble background as a girl next door has been the secret of her simple lifestyle and success.

Among the 26 incoming Lawmakers for the 9th Ondo State Assembly, ODHA, only three were the odd men out and these includes the two Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] candidates, the duo of Honourable Rasheed Olalekan Elegbeleye representing Akoko North East Constituency and Hon. Festus .O. Akingbaso representing Idanre Const. while Hon.Tomide Akinribido Leonard representing Ondo West Const.1 is so far the only Zenith Labour Party [ZLP] member.

Elegbeleye between 2012 and 2014 was the State PDP Youth Leader and he also served as the Senior Special Assistant [SSA] to Governor Olusegun Mimiko on Political and Local Government Affairs in 2015 to 2017.
HIS HUMBLE BUT INSPIRING PROFILE:
The 53years old politician was born precisely on the 16th of May,1966 at Edo Quarters of the ancient Ikare-Akoko town and he started his education at A.U.D School 5 at Isakunmi area in Ikare Akoko beween 1973 to 1979.
He proceed to Ikare Grammar School, Ikare Akoko and sat for his West African School Certificate Examination, Ordinary Level in 1984.
He subsequently attended the Cooperative College, Akure for an 18 month Diploma Certificate in 1987 to 1988 and also had another Diploma from Wolex Polytechnic, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos between 1995 to 1997.

Elegbeleye immense contribution to the community as a grassroots political activist went beyond political boundaries as his signature is boldly written on many monuments.
As a Supervisory Councilor, Elegbeleye built a very strong reputation for himself by setting a high standard which other occupiers of the positions and offices have not been able to beat.
He single handedly constructed to a standard Football Pitch the AUD Primary School Field as a well building a Library, stocked it with books, stationeries and furniture for the pupils of his Alma Mater, AUD School 5, Ikare-Akoko.

HOW 2023 PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION CLIPS TINUBU’S WING
Going by the present sentiment it is likely that the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress,APC and Onetime Lagos State Governor,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu might have jettison his wife, Remilekun Tinubu’s Deputy Senate President[DSP] ambition for the contentious 9th National Assembly Leadership to throw his weight behind Asiwaju of Akokoland and the 3rd Term Ranking Senator for Ondo North District, Senator Ajayi Robbert Boroffice for the position.
News monitored across various sources closed to the leadership of the APC revealed that Boroffice is strongly in contention and he is not leaving any stone un-turned.
After the National Assembly seats have been won and lost, there have been a serious politicking across the geo-political zones, as Senator-elects have loss sleep over the scrambling for principal offices in the fourth coming 9th Assembly.
Boroffice is highly favoured by sentiments and zoning arrangement and he is leveraging on his strong influence among the South West leaders to manouver his way for the esteemed DSP Position.
The permutations put the South West at a vantage point, should the Deputy Senate be zoned to the region, with three major contending states— Ondo, Oyo and Lagos.
As a rule, the offices of the Senate President and Deputy Senate President are exclusively for ranking senators, which have the likes of Prof. Ajayi Boroffice (Ondo North), Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central) and Teslim Folarin (Oyo Central) as qualified candidates.
The three are ranking senators re-elected to the Senate for the third time on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). From all indications, the three gladiators are slugging it out among themselves.
Presently, there are 106 seats declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with 64 for APC and 41 for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while the Young Progressive Party (YPP) has a seat. The result of three seats —Plateau, Taraba and Imo States are yet to be announced.
Having a majority of senators-elect, APC has warned its members to be cautious in how they handle the issue of who occupies principal offices. The party leadership said it would intervene to prevent the palace coup and betrayal that characterised the 8th Assembly.
With a National Assembly that has 43 returnees and over 15 former governors, the onus of leadership must rest on persons with the mien, charisma and intellect of no mean repute to lead the Assembly.
The only qualified candidate from Ondo State, Senator Boroffice, hails from Oka-Akoko, Akoko Southwest Council. He is a Professor of Zoology, with rich dossier in public service as the founding Director General of National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), a position he held till he was elected into the Senate in 2011.
He was conferred with Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2004 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He also won the Golden Merit Award in Space Science from the World Federation of Science Journalists in March 2011. He was the chairman of Senate Committee on Science and Technology.
Aside his personal qualities, there is an outcry from the people of Ondo State that they have always been marginalised by other parts of the South West, especially Lagos and Ogun States in terms of representation at federal level.
Some political analysts have observed that office of Deputy Senate President is an opportunity to redress that issue, not only because the state was one of the major contributors to the national economy during regional government, but also as one of the nine Niger Delta States.
According to them, the position is suitable for Boroffice as a staunch party leader, who worked hard for the party’s success, despite the internal wrangling that threatened his third term ambition.
Even during the last Presidential and National Assembly poll, in which APC performed woefully in least expected places, he won all the polls in his domain for APC candidates.
Since his sojourn in the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), now APC from December 2011, he has aligned himself with the party’s national leader, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, though his governorship aspirations were truncated twice by Bourdillon in 2012 and 2016.
Dangling a bait to whittle down the Bourdillon influence, the Senate leadership in 2015 offered Boroffice the position of Chief Whip, but he declined, due to his unalloyed support for Tinubu and the party leadership.
It was gathered from reliable sources that the principal officer’s slot may be a payback time for Ondo State and the senator, and that the party’s national leader, Tinubu will no doubt play a critical role in the election of principal officers.
Other observers noted that Tinubu’s presidential ambition in 2023 might be a factor that would work in favour of Boroffice, as the former could sacrifice his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu to retain the loyalty of a worthy supporter like Boroffice, as well as possibly forestall the accusation of making elections a family affair.
The Ondo State governorship election is another factor that may make Tinubu finally settle for Boroffice to enable him manoeuvre a replacement from the Southern district without grudges of the incumbent governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who was reportedly queried for anti-party activities.
Considering the rivalry and supremacy battle between Akeredolu and Bourdillon, as revealed by some APC members, who are nursing grudges against the state chapter of the party, Tinubu may attempt to spite the governor by pushing for Boroffice’s emergence in the principal office.
However, the race for the DSP might strain the cordial relationship between Oluremi Tinubu and Boroffice, who enjoyed his colleague’s unflinching support in the past. They may eventually be at loggerheads, if not well handled.
The Guardian gathered that Oluremi took Boroffice to Bourdillon severally during his bids to become governor, so as to seek her husband’s blessings.
With the new conflict of interests that may draw a political battle line between the two Senators, Tinubu is hinging her suitability for the job on the much-agitated inclusiveness for women and the 35 Percent Affirmative Action campaign.
She said: “The men have to trust the women to do that, especially the APC-led administration in ensuring that women are given their fair share. I am the first woman in Nigeria to be re-elected for a third term as a Senator, and I think they have to consider what they will give to a woman at the 9th Assembly.
I believe I have represented the women agenda for over 20 years, and they should trust me. My office will be open to them, and then we can move the agenda of the nation forward.”
A public affairs analyst, in Akure appealed to Tinubu to give Boroffice a chance, highlighting that people of Ondo State are the most marginalised in terms of executive and legislative positions.
He listed beneficiaries from other South West states to include: Senator Gbenga Aluko (PDP, Ekiti State), Deputy Senate Leader: 1999-2003; Senator ‘Nimbe Mamora (ACN, Lagos State), Minority Leader: 2007-2011; Senator Teslim Folarin (PDP, Oyo State), Senate Majority Leader: 2007-2011.
Others were Ayoola Agboola (PDP, Oyo State), Deputy Chief Whip: 2011-2015; Senator Ganiyu Solomon (APC, Lagos) State Deputy Minority Leader: 2011-2015 and Senator Sola Adeyeye (APC, Osun State) the Chief Whip (incumbent): 2015-2019.
In the House of Representatives, Tugbi noted that there were Dimeji Bankole (PDP, Ogun State), Speaker: 2007-2011; Olubunmi Ete, (PDP, Osun State), Speaker: 2011; Mulikat Adeola (PDP, Oyo State), Majority Leader: 2011-2015; Femi Gbajabiamila (ACN, Lagos State), Minority Leader: 2007-2015; Gbajabiamila, incumbent Majority Leader; Lasun Yusuf (APC, Osun State), Deputy Speaker (incumbent): 2015-2019, among other Federal appointments and parastatals.
CONTRARY to widespread reports that Governor Akeredolu received a query from APC leadership and National Working Committee over anti-party activities in the last elections, suggesting rough days ahead for him, the party is waxing stronger and better.
While speaking to The Guardian on the issue, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, dispelled the reports as mere rumour and figments of imagination from political adversaries.
He said: “There is no query anywhere; it is not true. The Governor is a progressive and has always been committed to promoting the party in the state and beyond. Akeredolu has always been with this school of political thought.
“So, it is ridiculous for anyone to wake up and associate him with any other party than APC. He is committed to the cause of the people and working hard to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots.”
Though the party lost the presidential election, five Federal House of Representative and two senatorial seats to the opposition in the February 23 polls, it sprang a surprise two weeks after to win 23 out of 26 state House of Assembly seats.
Ajiboye, who noted that the earlier loss at the poll was mainly caused by imposition of unpopular candidates, attributed the resounding victory at the last poll to the acceptability of Akeredolu-led government by the people.

The fact is that many frontline Nigerian Marketers were falling over themselves to get the Right to Distribute the “Appreciation” Album but because of the past unpalatable experience that Roka and other foreign based artiste has had in while dealing with some dubious Naija became a nightmare.
Coupled with the harsh and unpredictable business environment in Naija also made Rokan Entertainment to foot-drag and took their time in selecting the Lead Marketer for the work.
