DANGOTE FLOOD ONDO WITH 40,000BAGS OF CEMENT

Dangote flood Ondo with 40,000 bags of cement

… discharges 50,000 in Edo, 40,000 in Ekiti

…stabilizes cement prices in Ondo,Ekiti,Edo State

Stories by Ngozi Aduloju, repoting for Sunshine Daily Watch,Akure

In a bid to stabilized the astronomical and galloping price of cement in Ondo State,Dangote Group the leading Cement Manufacturer in Africa recently re- strategies as the company stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital with over 50 truck load of cements which they offloaded into a warehouse on Ilesha Road.

Sunshine DailyWatch reliably gathered that a similar venture was simultaneously embarked upon by Dangote Group as the company  stormed Edo State with about 70,000 cement bags while over 40,000 bags  was also warehoused at Ado-Ekiti and invariably making the residents beneficiary  from this gesture.

.

Both Ekiti and Edo states were also beneficiaries of the repositioning strategy embarked upon by the African largest conglomerate, Dangote Group to stabilized the price of Cement in every nooks and cranny of the country.

Investigation carried out by Sunshine Daily Watch on Dangote Group operations in Ondo State revealed that the marketing strategist and whizkid behind the smooth operation is one unassuming Hausa lad popular among Dangote clients as Napoleon Mbula

Some Dangote major distributors interviewed said that if not for Napoleon they would not have still be in business because he is a born marketer and he understand the business terrain here despite that he is a non indigenes he has so much integrated into the system.

All effort by SDW reporters to have a word with Mr.Napoleon Mbula the same mans coordinating Edo and Ekiti proved abortive as he was seeing busy with the offloading and making frantic calls to the other deports in Edo and Ekiti state.

But sources closed to Dangote Group revealed that the gesture was in line with the company’s plan to stabilize the rising cost of cement in the state, a move the source said would afford the present government to pursue relentlessly its housing project when it is finally kick starts.

Further investigations by Sunshine DailyWatch revealed that other interested groups, stakeholders and within the state are jittery over Dangote’s move as prices  for cement over the week had remain stable.

In offloading the truck loads of cements, Mr Napoleon deployed a well organized and structured plan in which its trucks were parked at the outskirt of the city without causing traffic congestion and only the truck that will be discharged are the only one permitted to entire the town to off load  at the warehouse.

Sunshine Daily Watch also gathered that the Ondo State Government as well as the State Security Service conducted investigations into Dangote’s influx of cements into the state and upon discovery of its genuine intention; the matter was left to rest.

While other competing brands savour the loss and the share of the market  to Dangote Groups  made a passerby who saw the long que of the over 35trailers yet on offloaded  on the Ondo,Ado Ekiti and Ikare-Akoko  road axis of the town to say that Obajana miracle had been transferred to Akure

BORROFICE CONDEMNS MONETIZATION POLITICS

BORROFICE CONDEMNS MONETIZATION POLITICS

lauded Rt.Hon. Abdusalam for being a good Akoko Ambassador

[Stories by Alaba Aliu  and Ladi Akinwale of Sunshine Daily Watch Akure]

The Asiwaju of Akoko land, Prof. Ajayi Robert Borrofice has called on Akoko sons and daughter to desist from monetization politics and rather engage in farm and small scale industries to liberate themselves from poverty.

He made this known at the palace of Olukare Oba Akadiri Momoh during the new yam festival in Ikare Akoko recently.

The Akoko-born icon pointed out that “it is a dangerous thing to make politics an  investment” stressing that some of the politicians will sell their houses and landed properties to get their way into political offices and that they will be looking for ways to recoup whatever money they have invested they get into the position.

He however noted that hard work and skill accusation would bring about great improvement on the economy of Ondo state, adding that all hands must be on desk to revive the economy.

Borrofice also advised the indigenes of the state to learn from the Igbo’s who are highly industrialized and mentor others on the same business, that  the older should mentor the younger ones.

In his words “we need to introduce memorization into business like Igbo will trained their apprentices and later give them seed money to start their new business, so let us be our brothers keeper”.

According to him “all hands must be on deck to lift up akoko land and to see how to encourage our youth and adult in our lands “

Borrofice lauded Ondo State Speaker of House of assembly Hon. Taofik Abusalam for being a good ambassador of Akoko land both at home and abroad.

I Was Detained For ‘Ijoba Alata’Yoruba Elpee -Tomogun Irun Akoko -

I Was Detained For ‘Ijoba Alata’ -Tomogun Irun Akoko -Sola Omotosho Many people are born gifted. These people effortlessly, in their chosen endeavours, performed tasks beyond their fellow peers and even their bosses’ expectations, to the awe and admiration of all. Tomogun Olubunmi Olayinka is one such person, born gifted. This broadcaster, film producer/ director, singer, choreographer, writer and an entertainer extraordinaire is a bundle of talents. Tomorin, The beefy artiste from Irun- Akoko, in Ondo State, hope to release to the market, before the end of the year, another Ewi album titled, Ole ni wa is a staff of the Ondo State Ministry of Arts and Culture, became a member of the State’s cultural troupe as a guest artiste in 1982. The versatile singer, dancer and dramatist, however was given full employment in 1989.At that time, Ondo State Cultural Troupe was under the Ministry of Information. In the 70’s, while still in primary school and through his secondary school education, he was an artiste with the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC), through the help of Alhaji Kilani, an indigene of Afin- Akoko. As a member of a mobile theater group, he was touring Lagos and Ibadan with the other members; however he was prevailed upon to stop his touring, and to take up a job with his State and use his talents to develop his State. As a full fledged artiste, Tomogun has no interest in partisan politics “I am not a politician, all my programmes on the electronics media, contents wise are tilted towards sanitizing, developing and for the unification of the State” he affirmed. The widely travelled artiste has led the State troupe on many International performances, through private, State and Federal Governments sponsorship. The Akoko born personality has been on tours to London, Canada, Thailand- Bangkok, Cairo- Egypt and the recent visit to Ghana, for the Pan African Festival (PANAFEST), held in Ghana recently. Recounting his Ghana experience, he said “the sore point of our trip was in the area of cuisine. We were not satisfied with the Ghanaians local delicacies and we were unable to get Nigerian dishes. Their precious Kenke delicacy, similar to our own Egidi or Kati, in Akoko land, is tasteless on our taste bud. We had to implore the services of a Ghanaian lady, who we taught how to cook some Nigerian delicacies, and with the help of some female troupe members, we were able to eat well for the almost two weeks of our stay” The Ewi exponent has to his credit, many albums, which include Okodoro Oro, Omo Oduduwa, Oselu Atata, etc. However, Ijoba alata, released during the late Abacha regime, was the most controversial, because Tomogun was detained at a police Station in Ondo State as a result of this album. The then government of General Sanni Abacha, felt the album was too hard on his government and the operatives in Ondo State, invited him for a talk, which eventually led to his arrest at a police station in Ondo State but for the timely intervention of a police man, a DPO, of that station who happens to be a brother, he would have been sent to jail. This experience, ever so fresh in Tomogun’s memory, has made him more resolute to say the truth all the time via his various medium of expression The man of many parts, has produced and taken part Tomogun while doing a course in yoruba- theater arts, at the University of Nsukka, Ikere Ekiti campus, did one- man film, titled ‘ojo kan soso’, a film on social vices, produced with the aim of correcting the ills n the campuses. This dramatist of note has in his kitty, a yet to be released home video titled Olofin, a film on Idanre. This film, took four years for the research to be completed. Among the co researchers are, the Owa of Idanre, Oba Aroloye Arubiefin, 1V, Hon. Jones Akinyugha, Member, House of Representative and Peter Fatomilola, the renowned dramatist and lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, gave all the Odu Ifa needed. He said the film will be previewed by Professor Wole Soyinka, who has so much interest in Idanre Kingdom. In his advice, the quintessential indigenous voice over artiste, said people should not see selves as copying machines and should engage their time in other productive activities, rather than to depend solely on their artistic ingenuity. “Many artistes are not original; they copy other people’s works and even perform below expectations and many who love money more than the interest they have on the job, should desist from this attitude. It is good to come out with exemplary quality works and be applauded by the people who invariably, are the end users, than to produce sub standard works that would make the people snare at our back.”

AKOKO LAWMAKER BEMOANS DEARTH OF EAGLE STARS-HON.GBENGA ELEGBELEYE

NIGERIA: EAGLES – AKOKO LAWMAKER BEMOANS DEARTH OF STARS -Gbenga Elegbeleye The deputy chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Hon. Olugbenga Elegbeleye, has confessed the shortage of skilled Nigerian footballers needed to raise optimism of the country’s participation in the 2010 World Cup tournament. Elegbeleye, (PDP, Akoko North/East/West, Ondo State) in an interview further admitted that the chances of the country qualifying for the 2010 World Cup tournament were dicey on account of Tunisia’s leadership of the group. In his outline of what was required for Nigeria to win the group ticket for the South Africa football mundial, Elegbeleye said Nigeria would have to beat Tunisia home and away and also trash Kenya in the same way to assure qualification for the first senior tourney on African soil. But assessing the country’s chances he said: “Let me tell you the truth, the best footballers are not from Nigeria. If you count among the first ten from Africa no Nigerian will be there. Our boys are not among the best in Africa today. It is not a matter of conspiracy against us,” he confessed in an interview. Continuing on the shortage of experienced footballers from the country, he said: “By the time they give out the CAF awards how many Nigerians win anything? With the exception of Mikel, none of our boys is playing for a big club in Europe. No Nigerian playing for Man U, no Nigerian playing for Barcelona, no Nigerian playing for Liverpool,” | He said as he noted that the only Nigerian playing for the Italian Serie A side, Inter Milan, was not a regular player. “So Nigeria does not have players among the biggest clubs in the world, so we are really not the best in Africa, we need to sit down and be patriotic. The only thing that they need to do is to sit up, train together for about two weeks and show patriotism and they will go to the field and win,” he concluded. ———-
