MIMIKO ADMINISTRATION IS A TOTAL FAILURE-Abayomi
Gov.Mimiko

Gov.Mimiko

Mimiko administration is a total failure-Abayomi

Dr.Tunji Abayomi is an Okeagbe Akoko-born human rights and social crusader  of  international repute,a successful lawyer and a politician who have been at the vanguard of the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria. He has been to different detention centers and jail for his for his unrepentant and die hard stance against the military junta. He was among the men who led the emergent of Dr Mimiko as governor of Ondo State. In this interview with GOKE OLUWOLE the editor in chief,of Akokostars Dr Abayomi take s Gov Mimiko and the LP to the cleaner as he score them zero.Excerpts…

Gov.Mimiko recently celebrated two years in office as one of the protagonist of his emergent, how would you rate his performance?

Government is rated in my view in two major department of life, the capacity to bring about change; you might call it transformational change not just a stability or building a single house or a single project,it is what I call semantic change or systematic change to give an example. When Awo saw that the Yorubas, in old Western Region face the crises of education, he established a free Primary Education. When he saw that Yoruba Western Region face the crises of water, he built dams all over the places. When he saw they face the crises of health, he started to build and did construct General Hospitals around the town. If you now look at government of Mimiko, the administration is a total failure and it appears as if it is an emergency government, his activities appear to be an emergence of a periodic dream, I do not see any systematic transformational capacity in him.I give a single example, government is commiting N3.7 billion or thereabout to whatever he calls it in Akure Oba Adesida Road. He first told us he is going to give us 6 [six] lanes, they started to demolish homes at the end of the day, they did not give us any lane as a matter of fact, they have only construct a set of ugly divide in the middle of the road, removed all the street lights that were okay destroyed all that was there to what was not suppose to be there. In Ijapo, the Ikoyi of Ondo State, scarcely can you see a street that is tarred. Then you will ask what is the need of a government to commiting over three billion naira[N3bn] to a road that is okay, you now ask yourself what act of reasonning will caused  the government to commit such a whopping sum, for a serious minded  government will know that what is required in Oba Adesida road is just service but  an unserious government would think that what is required is construction not service  to that extend I  will say am very disappointed in Gov.Mimiko’s developmental capacity.

If you will  take that before looking into the issue of health  to my mind it is silly to say you are building a Mother and Child Hospital like a woman said  does this man want our fathers and husband to die if he’s only trying to protect the women and the children, this man left the general hospitals that have been internalised by our people that you are going to give them  a mother and child hospital ,if you look at all the projects embarked upon by Dr Mimiko they are gingantic projects conceived out an ad-hoc dreams.Totally unsystematic and with little benefit.

I listen to him on television saying that the reason why he is expanding the road from airport to Akure is because when people are coming to Akure they can just zoom in to Akure but to  my mind that is an odd thinking must you commit so much resources to just few people who are coming into the state through the airport to Akure when you have not commit so much to the people who rightly need it.Though that is his own thinking.

The balance is why are you going to commit so much resources for just very few people that will come from the airport to Akure, when you have not even committed resources to the benefit and the generality of the citizens of Ondo State who are actually the full developers of  Ondo State. So in terms of developments, I see disorder in the developmental thinking of the Government and am thoroughly unimpressed. Let’s look at other issues, am now talking about the moral responsibility of the Government to layout values because this is essential for any Government. The fundamental disagreement between me and Governor Mimiko started from the conduct of the Akure North Local Government. My problem with him with due respect  is that he came out to say that the election was free and fair, elections he knew that was manifestly rigged by Labour Party [LP] his own party. This was just four days after the elaborate and exceedingly costly burial of Chief Gani Fawehinmi. So, I wrote him a letter and asking him how is he’s comfortable with that, does he not know that the dispatches from the grave  will disturb our conscience after burying our illustriuos son late Gani Fawehinmi and we are now rigging election. After the whole thing, I know see him as part of the coalition of election rigging in the country.Because when you look at the PDP election in 2007 when he turned against Adefarati to join PDP, the votes he rigged for PDP in Ondo town was close to a hundred thousand. The entire voting population of Ondo as at that time was about 35,000 elector and he rigged almost 60,000 illegal votes when he became the flagbearer of the Labour Party[LP] as governorship aspirant. The total votes cast  for him is about 35,000 and in that election, both the lame and the able body, everybody precisely voted for him in Ondo Town so, when everybody voted for him in Ondo Town, he got about 35,000 because that time, he didn’t see the need to rig because everybody will vote but in the PDP election which he crossed and rigged for PDP, he rigged almost 100,000  for PDP. So when I looked at that, and look at Akure South election I said well, may be I was foolish to think that he has changed and that he’s a new creature. So, my disappointment with him is very deep rooted. It is moral as well as strategic developmental issue.

During the last ACN rally in Akure the leaders of your party openly denounced Gov Mimiko and LP,calling them betrayer. At what point does things started falling appart between the LP  and  your party?

I think the principal reason really is because we do not see him as a democrat. I’m one of the people that discussed the issue of Labour Party [LP] in this State and am one of the people that influence the thinking of our party.Let me give you a simple example,we are  today in Ondo State two years after the election we are still being governed by dictatorship in the eighteen [18]  Local Governments, now here is a governor that collect the allocation of 18 Local Governments close to about two billion naira[N2bn], collecting it every month and expending it.The constitution says that a state owes the duty to guarantee a democratically elected governor at any level. In other words, you have put the people above yourself. In his own government, he is sovereign not the people so he corner these things up. Initially I supported him on these Local Government controversies he has with PDP but I didn’t support him to impose on people a new dictatorship that is even more pervassed  than the experience we had before so he  is not a democrat in the real sense that it doesn’t represent our thinking. For example, what you see in Lagos is what you see in Edo,do you see them celebrating the little they have, putting all the resources, all the energy celebrating what they do sing praising themselves all the time, know you can see them doing that little they do but the reverse is the case here you only see them praising themselves in the media, this does not represent the organic thinking of ACN.At least i held two meetings with him asking him forge a progressive alliance for the development of this State. But  since he is not interested in it but he has more interested in supporting a conservative course. We need to depart from the error.

Is that why your Chamber accepted the brief and act as the legal adviser and solicitor to an Akoko local government aspirant who dragged Dr.Mimiko to court over the council poll?

The problem of Government rigging by instruction,by selection,by wish is that it often leads into error. It does not differentiate government from dictatorship and that is the emphasis I was laying in my book “STATE AND CITIZEN”.Because you surpressed the people making them slaves to government.Again in the papers today; PDP is claiming to have left thirty eight billion naira [N38bn] in the coffers, you collected that, you collected all the allowances which is now over a hundred billion naira,[N1000bn] you collected the Local Government Allocation which is probably close to three billion naira[N3bn]. So, we are talking about money close to about one hundred and fifty billion naira [N150bn] collected by you without any control, no accountability, no auditing, and nothing. Whether the leadership of the people is using the money for their own private deals, we do not know. In all these local governments how can people who have right, honour accept something like that,Gov.Mmimiko regime lacks accountability and corporate governance,in the last two years his book has not been audited, has he made what we could called the state of the state broadcast on expenditure how much have we actually earned and how has the money been spent,is it spending N150 million on ‘KAADI  Igbe Ayo”a totally useless card that can not get you into bank,it can not get you voting access,it can not get you anything,it can do nothing for you.We spent another N150million on rebranding,“ISE LOOGUN ISE” when people have gotten no portable water to drink,no good schools, the health institution are in a complete mess, and no electricity. Why not create business centre to partner with development developers to achieve sincere credibility. You didn’t do that, you said you are building mega this, mega that, mega hospital, mega home,You think Awolowo can not build mega school thus he embarked on building schools in every towns, communities and villages. Before these decisions were taken it was based on highly  intellectually excersion before mega school was embarked upon it wasn’t so is that what we need in a developing nation mega this mega that look at the Mega Dome Project it is another mega doom  problem after they have tried to construct they then suddenly discovered that the cover is in appropriate it was deficient of mega thinking because Gov.Mimiko and his team are not rarely thinking is that what we really need. What we really need is to develop the small communities arround.this can be easily achieved through Private Partnersip Initiatives.[PPI] as developer instead you are just surfering from megalomania

As an a stakeholder in Akokoland,What will you say about the roles played by the Obas in the emergent of Prof.Ajayi Bororffice as LP senatorial flagbearer as against  Dr Olu Agunloye of ACN?

I have my own constituency in Ondo State, the Oba’s have their own constituency so I do not know anything about that but how can they endorse Professor Boroffice from Akoko while Dr Agunloye is also from Akoko.Do you know any father who will choose one child and say that this is my favorite child against the other? If that is the case, then something must be wrong.Professor Boroffice is somehow a family friend but I have fundamental disagreement with his choice. If Professor Borofice said he is the Asiwaju of Akoko Land then he should demonstrate it instead of nearly proclaiming it to use the word of  Wole Soyinka. If you are Asiwaju then you should lead by example.Am one of the people who went to Dr Agunloye to discuss with him and he told me what the Governor did by making Boroffice,by just telling them that you Boroffice go for senate and you Agunloye go for the house of representatives.Justice demand that he should allow the use of the chinese expression that the flowers should bloom freelly on the field one will rise and one will fall the soil is the premise for their growth. What I expect Prof.Boroffice to say that ‘Governor no that is not fair to Agunloye and if the governor insist I,Tunji Abayomi will withdraw my candidacy to demostrate leadership this is about making choices. Now saying you are Asiwaju, then your Asiwaju is more interested in your own gain rather than the love of somebody that is following you. To my mind, I feel embarrassed and that is why I found it totally unacceptable if that is the choice he made in the terms of moral crisis I think it is rather unfortunate and that is why in my view, the people of Akoko should let him know that what he has done is rather unfortunate and unacceptable to us.

Threre is a serious agitation among the political class in Ondo State that Akoko in Ondo NorthSenatorial District must produced the next governor come 2013,what is your take on this?

The issue of Governor coming from Akoko is not an Akoko problem it is the problem of rotation and it is an unwritten law in this State. From north to south, south to central and now is back to the north. There is no second term in Ondo State. Governor Mimiko is the arrowhead of the campaign againt no second term and he is the highest beneficiary as an avowed and unrepentant canvasser against two term, you know how he fought against Pa Adebayo Adefarati, I was the lawyer who defended Adefarati when Governor Mimiko and one of his colleagues fought against him on second term and I won the case in Abuja. He then deflected and  also fought against Agagu on second term. And i stood by him supported him.It is a moral responsibility anyway, now it is his turn to play by the rule, what is good for the gander is also good for the goose .Mimiko must be honourable  in anyway I like the intelligence of Ondo  people, they will say do your four years and leave the place for the next person. There are over three million people who can as well occuppied the same position.Akoko has four local governbmnt and is very convinced that the next governor should come from Akokoland. And if I were Gov.Mimiko i will inspired the manifestation of the Akoko dream. But we all know him too well he and some of his polityical cohorts are already looking on how to beat the people but he will be meet a very strong coalition if he tries anything funny.

How would you relate rebranding in Osun,Ekiti that is the Omoluabi Context and the Land of Hounours ideology, and the Much touted Ondo State Ise logun Ise rebranding?

If it is to understand what an omoluwabi is from the stand point of the Yoruba cosmology ethmonological thinking, an omoluwabi would be responsible, an omoluwabi would be honest, he would not be carrying bible, dancing at redeemed camp and be rigging election, an omoluwabi would respect others, is not that an elder would come and see you and you will say you cannot see them and keep them at the gate of your house or office,an omoluwabi would listen to the voice of the others instead of his own voice alone, an omoluwabi would give good governance by example not by proclamation,an omoluwabi would care for the children to ensure they have good education, good health and worry about the lives of the aged, an omoluwabi would be in composition of the best and highest values in Yoruba ontological thinking that is an Omoluabi and that is also believed that you need the people, the Yoruba people.

What is your next political move ?

My next political move is to support my party to win in this coming election and I believed that generally and more especially, Yoruba people now realized that we must return to the past glory, the ideal of the government that raised us up. We have come to know a traumatic period when you say that you are talking of interacting with national something, that has not helped us. When we stand aloof, we are able to think deeply. There’s nobody that think in the crowd, when you want to think, you go to sober solitude and that is what the Yoruba through ACN  and that is why development is returned to the Yorubas.

Your candid advise to the people towards the next poll?

Understand, am one of the people in Abuja working closely in terms of ideas with the head of INEC because he is a distinguished man and so we submit ideas to him and he is an intelligent man, intelligent enough to look at the ideas, and in a number of seminars  that participated in the seminar. You stand to account, you wait to declare, and you rejoice or weep depending on who you are, it’s just that simple, so the people should be ready to defend their votes. There will be lots of guns and guns but how many are they going to kill. Look at what is going on in our State today between Labour Party and PDP marelly because of election, are they the party people want to elect, the people that will turn their State into a theatre of war, which is not the party fit for the good people of Ondo State.

BLESSING CAT GIRL

AKUNGBA TEENAGERCAUGHT TRANSFORMING FROM CAT TO HUMAN BEING  AT AKURE

A girl of about 14 years suspected to be a witch was caught at about 2.30am transforming from  a black cat to human being in the home of Primate Prophet Pastor Nasril Olabode  Ajibola  a Cherubim and Seraphim Coordinator to Glory of Glories Onibuore  Peniel,Church Head quarters C&S Church of Christ located around Oke-aro near Idanre Garage at New Town Layout, Akure.

Sunshine Daily Watch gathered that the young lady who identified herself as Blessing was caught after gaining entrance through the ceiling to the sitting room of the Pastor during a night vigil session but could not carry out her mission after being subdued by the Holy Spirit.

Neither her or any goods was damaged or stolen and no sign of damages could be seeing at the premises nor any harm done to the girl by the mob as she had sat on the floor through out the investigation and charted with our crew.

According to the Pastor, “I was praying in my bedroom yester night when I heard a loud noise in my sitting room which sounds like a rat matching on the roof but having noticed that the sound was much and becoming unbearable. I stepped out to check only to see an image much bigger than normal cat but black and catlike shape curled at a corner of my room.

As I shouted Jesus name she yell out a noise of pain as if she has been exhausted and began to transform to a human being. With fear I raised alarm and called on my Neighbours to witness the drama”

The suspected ‘Witch’ was incoherent in her statement as claimed to have come from Akungba Akoko where she and her sister were banished due to Eclipse disease that has been worrying her.

She also said her visitation to the church was based on her sister advised who told her to be there on Monday for deliverance but could not state how she got into the Pastors house leaving the church behind her.

Meanwhile the members of the church said they had just two hours of prayer session on Sunday night and everybody dispersed.

The full night vigil which they had conducted was for the last seven days which ended on Saturday.

Although the girl never accepted nor disprove the accusation or make any confession to the sin except that she made reference to a black cloth seized from her as beg for the release of her black waist band claiming that her sister would beat her if she did not return the black cloth suspected to be an instrument of her witch craft transportation, the Pastor claimed to have seized the cloth when he noticed the transformation taken effect from her waist where she hang the Black Waist band on her body.

MIMIKO POLICY IS DEFECTIVE…HON JIMMY ADEDAPO.

MIMIKO POLICY IS DEFECTIVE…HON ADEDAPO.

A former political appointee in Ondo State and Peoples Democratic Party[PDP] flag bearer in the Akoko South  Federal Constituency, Hon. Jimi Adedapo has opened up that the present administration under Dr Olusegun Mimiko  has nothing to offer Ondo State people as they are out to satisfy their personal desires.

The House of Representative hopeful who was accompanied by Honourable Bode Obanla during a courtesy visit to Sunshine Daily Watch[SDW] office yesterday evening   made these remarks that the present administration in Ondo State under the Labour Party[LP] is only made up of some aggrieved PDP members who are only interested in bleeding the state red under Dr.Olusegun Agagu but were prevented from doing so by the former governor.

“The point is that most of the people who are parading themselves as Labour party members are formally from the PDP, they left PDP for Labour party because they were not allowed to dip their hands into the coffers of Ondo State to satisfy their ego they now feel that they are going to have a field day in Labour party which they having already now but it is now at the detriment of the good people of Ondo State.” he said.

Adedapo further buttressed his point that it is in the open that the present governor promised to better the records of Agagu in six years in about hundred days but that everybody can see what is happening in the state now.

“He promised to turn around Ondo state in hundred days but the people have not seen his impact in about seven months now, this goes a long way to show that it is either is policy is defective or he even has nothing to offer the people of Ondo state as it is obvious to the people who are now groaning under serious hardship.” Hon. Adedapo said.

The Akoko born Prince however called on the people of Ondo State to keep faith with the PDP because it is the only Party that can continue with the developmental agenda of Dr. Olusegun Agagu who has done a lot to develop Ondo State to the level it is right now.

OBANLA SET TO REPLACE ONDO SPEAKER,ABDUSALAM BY 2011

OBANLA SET TO REPLACE ONDO SPEAKER,ABDUSALAM  BY 2011

The battle to take over the State House of Assembly seat from the current Speaker of the Assembly Rt. Hon Taoffek Abdulsalam hots up some few weeks ago as one of the strong member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akoko North East Local Government of Ondo State Bode Obanla has signified his intention to vie for the seat on the platform of the PDP.

Obanla, while addressing his party supporters from Isowapo 1 and 2, which comprises six communities of Auga, Iboropa, Akunu, Ise, Ugbe and Ikakunmo, said that he has come out to contest for the coveted seat so as to complement on what the current representative of the constituency in the House of Assembly has been able to give to the people of the area.

The Master in Public Administration graduate of LAUTECH Ogbomosho opined that the time has come for a true believer in democracy to come out boldly and support the PDP in the quest to win the ticket of the Assembly seat again so that the people can benefit more than what they are getting now.

“We can not shy away from the fact that our people deserve more than what they are getting right now, I know our limitations and I know we can do more than what we are doing right now to further assist our people from the shackle of poverty and needs. All these I intend to address when I get to the Assembly by 2011,”  he said.

The House of Assembly aspirant used the forum to thank the people of his constituency for having so much confidence in him and supporting him to come out and aspire for the position he believes he can use to turn around the fortunes of the people of Akoko North East of the state.

He also advised the people of the area to be steadfast with the PDP as it remains the only party that can truly liberate the people of the area as well as the state from the bondage that is currently the situation with the Labour Party government in Ondo State.

“People should not lose sleep about this current government as it has shown in the last seven months that it has nothing to offer to the people of Ondo State and as such the party would soon collapse and go into historical oblivion,” Obanla said.

MIMIKO IS NOT INTERESTED IN ABANDONED PROJECTS – OMOKOBA

Among all the political appointees in Gov. Mimiko’s administration one man  whose appointment has been regarded as  being a around peg in a round hole  is   SEHINDE OMOKOBA a Part-Time Board member of the Ondo State Rediovision Corporation [OSRC] is a man of immense knowledge and integrity. A man who rarely grant interview open up to GOKE OLUWOLE  Editor Sunshine Daily Watch[SDW] about  his life in retirement, the appointment and his expectation from Gov.Mimiko’s administration. Excerpt…

You are a journalist and rose to the level of a Senior Manager and Director before you left, now as a board member with the same OSRC a Parastatal  you served meritoriously. Is it the same OSRC you left that you met now?

You can expect it to be the same after what the last administration did to every fabric of our society. It can not be the same, that as the Director of News and Current affairs, while there professionalism was my watchword, when we are talking of journalist then, we are  talking of courage and truth, no matter the situation you must be bold at all times, truth may not be possible only in matter of sovereignty, but as a media empire we must be constant and truth is the constant thing to me then.

OSRC has gone through a lot of metamorphosis the problem is not  about the OSRC as entity, I see a lot of staffers reporting themselves, a situation a level ten[10] officer will be reporting a Director so that when eventually the director is removed he would be scheming to be the replacement, there you see a lot   blackmailing and sycophancy was the business of the day, they all played themselves into the hand of politicians. In OSRC today, we have professionals at the helm of affairs  and that is what they place need they need a boss, a team leader, a motivator  who can coordinate and give them courage , the power they   will not have any other alternative than to progress and deliver, the problem is not staff per se , but leadership, because OSRC then is a  micro Nigeria

When you where appointed was it the same expectation you have that  you met resumed

In the first instance, I was not elated; first because I was  giving a part time appointment because I will have loved a situation where I will be more involved in the day to day running of the affairs of any where   I have to work, and secondly,  because   where I was rubbish out of the place. But I was not expecting to be compensated with a higher responsibility whom much is given, much is expected. That is my philosophy about life. However, on a second thought out of the multitude, Gov. Mimiko  out of his kindness single me out to be appointed it is a great and a rare opportunity, and   I am believing  I need to do my very best to justify my appointment. I want to pledge never to  betray the confidence the governor reposed in me, the position is  for us to do our best to the best of our ability in the cause of our duty there.

Many were not too comfortable about some board composition, but as a professional how will you describe the composition of the board of OSRC vis a vis other boards?

When you look at the board, it is a made up of professional with intimidating and credible curriculum vitae. The chairman is a successful professional.Chief Sanya Oyinsan, who retired as Managing Director [MD] Federal Radio Corporation [FRSC] of Nigeria,Ibadan,Mr. Banji Kuroloja was Former Editor of the Nigerian Tribune during the turbulent military era, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Bamidele Olumilua, the old Ondo State, once Chairman of hope Newspaper and serving a second term on the board of OSRC, beside myself is  another professional, Apostle. Agitan former Chief of Ese Odo LGA has both administrative and political experience when you add all together,we are one of the most formidable under the present administration. But I will also say that to be a successful administrator you need to be dedicated to your duty so what we need now in the state is for those  appointed to be sincere in their duty and loyal to the government of the day. Let those who are saying that point to anybody appointed that is not qualify  and I will point to hundred past un-qualified appointees in this state that were once celebrated

How were your board  able to repackage the OSRC  despite all the  bad perception the public has about it as an effect of the political influence on the corporation by the last regime?

In OSRC today, what we did is adapt a Yoruba philosophy that “Ojo kan ko lan bo omo to run” meaning you don’t nurture a malnutrition baby same, so what we did to OSRC s an entity that has gone through a turbulent torture road in the hand of the best regime, even if you bring Jesus Christ or Mohammed now, or the best of administrator to the palce now,if he is not careful  he may be consumed  by the politics what we do is to repose confidence on the staffs and the public, that OSRC must be,no need of godfatherism, giving all the staff a level playing ground, changing their perception that you don’t need to know the board chairman, DG, Akinrele,Mimiko to succeed in then place,we give the people the best for their money, letting them know that we will not be biased with our reports, afterall  we are spending the tax payers money so we need to be accountable to the people and the government.

What were you doing after you left OSRC and before this present Political Appointment?

Immediately I lest the services of OSRC  as retiree I went into private business, I established a media outfit which still exist and doing well up till am talking to you, we are into media relations, We are also into private broadcasting packaging programmes like documentary, soaps, and running both video and audio studio. And in all I was also very busy as a mentor to a lot of young men whom I create opportunities for to be encouraged to pick career in journalism and I have even been motivating many already in media about how to rediscover and developed themselves. And that was why it was easy for me to statrt politics as I joined the progressive as one of Ppap Adefarati’s Apostle till unpalatable political climate in the state led to a coalition that  made us  midwife the present Labour Party[lp] and that is what gave the state the Mimiko’s administatrrtion.

In Ondo State today, there is political bickering about the slow pace of development by the present administration, what is your take on the this?

You can not blame the people in the having been lost in the political wilderness for so long the expectation has been so high, our people are too expectant. They want the immediate benefit, the dividends of democracy what the government is doing is to look back at the past to prepare for the future. Mimiko is not only looking at those who are     carrying Labour Party [LP] banner during campaign but to look at all the deficits and the urban neglect in just few months, he has done a lot, consolidating, he has been receiving visitors using his goodwill to attract a lot of investors and entrepreneurs, technocrats, he was done a lot in area of health. Don’t forget the state is a civil servant state all allocation always flitter to some individual pocket who re not having to do anything that will directly affected our economy, what am saying is that we are living in an economic valley all people here are civil servant not many are entrepreneurs, how many industry do we have do we have from chalk, pencil, some food to household are imported to the state, so all these drain out allocation. The people are right to grumble. They have the right to go asking for possibilities is not an offence  new an offence but the man at the driver seat Dr Segun Mimiko, is capable, tested and trusted, a highly focused individual leading a team heading for success. The government is  in a better position to look at both sides, they are only trying to weight the options before embarking on the needs, do research, an in-depth visibility studies, the present government is not interested in abandon projects, most of this project are political motivated and wrongly cited to pacify some political godfather with the last administration.

This administration has cardinal projects which one so far would you give your AAA rated and why

The time is too short to apportion marks, but since health is wealth, this man knows that poverty is on the throne worldwide not only in Ondo State and that is why you see him working assiduously to detached the families from the clutches of poverty, every family in this state is important to Gov. Mimiko, the free health ages 1-5 from pregnancy (mother and child) and the aged after 70 years are also benefiting the middle class are the highest beneficiary of Mimiko’s largesse’s. Also the issue of eradication of poverty is ask paramount to the government creating jobs are all my best rating for this government. He is now consolidating on infrastructures, he need to complement on information and publicity all these are being looked into. Both OSRC and Hope Newspapers are up to the task to disseminate prompt information to the people one is to have a plan, executing is another but for the target publics to appreciate it, there is urgent need to be carried along. The re-establishment and expansion of community viewing Centers for the people in the hinterlands, the rural and urban centres are having equal ratio of energy, the people should be encouraged to view the world it is all about globalization. Instead of retiring to  his bedroom procreating more babies, they need to have  enlightened on what is going on globally and have a better understanding of the governance since there is how to come for the once already available.

The last Akure By-election was believed to be free and fair, why in certain quarters like the Action Congress [AC] and the Peoples Democratic Party[PDP] condemning  it as a ruse, and full of fraud, what is your judgment  on the poll?

What is good for the gander is also good for the goose, whatever that has happen is a repeat of occurrence when we were not satisfy with result of the guber election, we went to court now, If they are dissatisfied, let the aggrieved go to court, that is my own candid advise to PDP or AC as they call themselves for now.

As an Akokoman in Mimikos government, what are your feeling on the appointment  would you say that your people has a far share of the action?

To be candid, when you look at the whole scenario, the Party Chairman is from  Akoko, Deputy Governor is from Akoko, we have five Commissioners, some Permannet Secretaries[PS] and as a Political Oliver Twist,if possible, I advocate  that every household in Akokoland should be rewarded in this  government, with some political appointments  but  taken a into consideration some  of  the past political exigencies I will say in all Gov.Mimiko has tried and has been fair in the sharing formula for now.

The Akoko political climate  is  systematically gathering momentum like other areas in preparation for the  rumpus moment with the political aspirants   taken the center stage, among your Akoko kingsmen  what type of Chairmen,Lawmaker and Councilor  must they vote for ?

I have this philosophy first to be yourself. An Olympian recruitment  says you have to be self prepared and ready an Akoko people cannot be different, Akoko is just the land mass of people who have different and divergence view and opinion, they need  someone who is selfless, transparent, the people had long been neglected in area of social infrastructures for decades  Owara Water Works has been the only source of pipe borne water supply  other sources of water must be sought everywhere. We need a man  who is ready to   replicate  what ,  makes the other cities   better, though that is an utopian  thought it is not easily achievable we are products of sticking society. Akoko should not be expecting so much from the appointees and political offence holders, everybody must first be the best of himself as an Akokoman before they could expect so much from the aspirants not the man will victimized so much that he will have to steal from the office. You see Akokoland is a place that is highly abandon by successive regimes the place has the worst road network across the nation. With the undulating geographical nature of our towns a very hilly land the towns need leaders who are capable or harnessing all the resources together, let vote for men with pedigree not a men who will throw the masses back to servitude,we shold vote for the party with human face ideology like Labour Party not party with leaders who are men with questionable characters,or a party with leaders who are biro robbers and fraudulent individual with dirty track records.

There is another clamour by some political elements from Akokoland and the Owos from the Ondo North Senatorial District already  agitating for who must get what in 20011 and who must occupied Alagbaka come 20013,what is your take on this ?

Personally, everyone is free, every body has the right  agitate and the  entitlement to their own political opinion. They are all at liberty to agitate nothing is wrong being ambitious but over ambitious is a bad thing, it si still too early to start agitation on who get what the one we have on the ground let nurture it to stardom,Lert me advise my people here the Akoko people must be watchful of those who are leading these crusdes are they champioming these courses for their own personal aggardiasement or they are using this as a smoke screen to cause disaffection among the peace loving Akokos. We understand some reactionary elements are trying to disintegrate Akokoland because of their political failure when time comes we are going to unmask and disgrace them ,we are warning them now to hence forth desist from this or any act tantamount to cause disaffection among the people. Every sincere Akokoman knows that Akokoland is Mimiko’s second political home and we know a lot are envious of this he accept every Akokoman as his brother not minding their political affiliation he is man loved and revered by Akoko masses and he has not fail to show this either in action or in words.

What do u think must be done to unite Akokoland instead of every dick and harry speaking discussant times?

We should go back to the basis, we should do away with unpleasant past history and talks. These unpalatable talks made some to belong to the school of thought that some are born to rule while they see some as born to serve  them,we must be united to be our brothers keeper an indivisible community. Only God knows what he was doing to have planted  us together under the harsh realities of todays world,we have to come together as a united entity to be able to win every of our Challenges be it Socio-economic,educational,political or religious.

The supervisor for sports and special duties for Akoko North East Local Government Ikare-Akoko, Mr. SAMUEL OBANLA, has called on Labour Party members statewide to pray fervently and be re-dedicated to God the more in order to overcome the re-occurring calamities been faced by the party in recent times.

It will be recalled that the governor was bereaved of his cousin few days ago in similar circumstance along Akure-Ondo road while heading to the reception venue slated to honour the governor in his homestead Ondo Town.

Mr. Obanla observed that as a party of the people it is bound to face many persecutions in many ways.

He implored the party members not to relent in their effort to continue to worship God as they did before the coming on board of the present administration, adding that they should not be carried away with the victory and appointments, hence “we need to pray for the governor for him to be able to paddle the canoe of the state to a safe harbour.

From my point of view our party members had gone to sleep, therefore we should wake up from our slumber and be more prayerful than ever before.
